Baby Swaddles That Actually Work For Better Sleep
It was the middle of the night and 6 days of no sleep, and there I was at 3am Googling “the best swaddles for babies.” I just could NOT keep my sweet, baby boy satisfied with his swaddle. I was desperate and tired and so was my newborn son. The only way we could both sleep is if I had put him on my chest to sleep, which is obviously not safe.
My son HATED being swaddled and having his arms restricted. We tried doing no swaddle, but that didn’t work either because of that poor, Moro Reflex (when the arms flail) that newborns have! So, I just had to do something. I bought every swaddle on the market that was recommended by blogs and gave them a try! In order to save you all the research and money, I am going to share my top recommendations for swaddles that have actually worked for myself and other moms!
The ONLY one that actually worked for us (pictured above): Love to Dream Swaddle Up they even make a transition one now that I will be buying for my little girl due in April! You can undo the arms to transition from swaddle to sleep sack > Love to Dream Swaddle Up Transition Bag!
Other Swaddles Recommended by Moms:
Magic Merlin Suit - This didn’t work for us because when they are newborns, they aren’t quite big enough and I didn’t like that it went over his face. It swallowed him. It would be perfect for a little bit older baby.
Nested Bean Swaddle and the Nested Bean Sleep Sack - Again, this one didn’t work for us because my son liked his arms free.
This is new to the market, but it’s a cross between the Love to Dream Swaddle Up and the Nested Bean model! Nested Bean Zen One - It has the same concept of the arms being free like the Love to Dream brand, but has the weighted egg on the chest that mimics a parent’s touch! I am going to stick this on my registry as well to see how my little girl will like it when she’s born!
